Tauleto: The Excellence of Sangiovese
Tauleto Sangiovese Rubicone IGT is the maximum expression of Umberto Cesari’s vision. Produced only in exceptional vintages, it is a unique blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Uva Longanesi. A multi-award-winning red wine of great structure and longevity, capable of conveying the power of Emilia-Romagna’s clay terroir.

Interesting facts
Tauleto is the local expression our farmers used to indicate water-rich land. The springs flowing under the Sangiovese vineyards of Podere Tauleto allow for minimizing water stress on the vines. For this wine, Umberto Cesari has breathed new life into Uva Longanesi, an ancient, almost forgotten native grape variety.
A red wine of great structure and longevity obtained from the best Sangiovese vintages and 10% Uva Longanesi. The creation of Tauleto is a slow and meticulous process that begins in the vineyard with a low yield per vine. The vineyards have an average age of 20 years and a yield of 65 quintals of grapes per hectare. The careful selection of the grapes is followed by the fermentation phase in specific temperature-controlled fermenters that allow for long pomace maceration. It rests for 24 months in 225-litre Allier oak barriques, where it acquires complexity and softness, followed by an additional 6 months of aging in the bottle to harmonize the bouquet before reaching the glass.

Colour: Deep ruby red, enhanced by a purplish rim that denotes its vibrancy.
Bouquet: Red fruit, ripe cherry, small wild berries, with a hint of rose, balsamic, and spicy notes.
Taste: Powerful and full-bodied, a wine balanced by soft tannins and hints of spice, graphite, tobacco, and red fruits. Extremely long and intense finish.
